Shimano Alfine 8 speed hubs

The latest 8 speed hub model SG-S501....does anyone know about when this model became available in the US?
How about when the SG-S500 B model became available?
And the SG-500 A model?

I have a Raleigh Detour City Sport on order and I'd like to be armed with this information.
I'm expecting it to have the 501 hub on it. The Raleigh catalog just says it's an Alfine.

Hi WWS, how do you like your Detour City Sport?

My LBS is recommending the DCS DLX to me but I can't find many reviews online to validate the purchase (I'm very new to this).

All the best,
SD

I like it just fine.
I have over 900 miles on it so far, with no adjustments or repairs needed.
Mostly use only 4, 5 and 6 gears.
And only 2 spills.
