Cassette spacers question
Can anyone please explain why the splines in the first spacer must not aline with the hub body splines for a 12T cassette?

They are all original Shimano spacers. The diagram is for installing american classic clips so the cassette does not chew your aluminum hub body.

Huh? you need to align the splines in the spacers with the splines in the cogs?

Ask AC I would assume it has somethign to do with how the clips connect to the cogs.

Thanks guys, I was a bit worried. I too always just slide the spacers in, never look at splines.

It looks like it's to prevent the clips from sliding in too far. The 12T scenario starts at the fifth sprocket while the 11T starts at the fourth
