Stan's rim tape on Ksyrium SL

Hi everyone,

I am looking to convert my 2012 Ksyrium SL to Hutchinson Fusion3 tubeless tires. I was planning on using the Stan's kit. Do I need the rim tape in the kit for a proper seal. and if so 1 or 2 times around the rim. I have no holes in the rim for spokes (I have been running tubes with no rim tape). I am a 180 lbs. and 6'2 if that is important to the setup. Thank you in advance to anyone that can help me with any information.

No rim tape necessary for rims without spoke holes such as your Ksyriums. I'm running Hutchinson Atom tubeless tires, with Stan's liquid sealant, on my Ksyrium Elite's at the moment, in fact; works great. I've set up Ksyrium SL's with Hutchinson road tubeless tires, with sealant and no rim tape for a customer, it's a nice setup.

If you haven't used Road Tubeless before, be sure to search the forums for info, and be certain to *practice* fixing flats in the garage before doing it out on the road.
