8 speed sram grip shift with road FD?
Hi - I'm thinking about using some 8 speed grip shifters on my bike which has road components -- RD, FD, double crank. I know the model of gripshifters are shimano compatible (2:1) based upon the bike I removed them from, but the original bike was a mountain bike with a triple crank. if I put these on a bike with a road FD and double crank, is there likely to be enough cable movement to shift both chainrings? The left shifter (FD) just ratchets in friction.
I know the RD/right-side grip shifter works fine because I've tried it. If not, I could just toss a friction thumb shifter on there...
Thanks,
