Cannondale headshok disassembly - how do I do it?

As some of you may have seen, my neighbor has a Cannondale with a Headshok (MC50, I think) that needs a boot replaced. I found one on Ebay, and now I need to figure how to get the fork out of the headtube to replace the boot. If anyone can direct me where to look I'd be super appreciative!

Take the stem and top cap off and whack it.
