Sugino BB Installation

Going to be installing my new Sugino bottom bracket next week, and am looking for some tips/tricks on making sure I do it correctly. The bottom bracket I'll be installing is a Sugino CBB-103. I've looked up videos on YouTube, and these two seem to be the best video I could find.

Are these a good representation of what my installation will be like? Is there anything else I need to know?

The top tutorial is fine and correct. The lower one seems accurate but needs a lot better production values. :)

You will need the Park BBT-22 or equivalent bottom bracket tool. Also try to get a 40mm or 50mm long M8x1.0 (NOT an M8x1.25) bolt to hold the bottom bracket tool in place while you tighten the drive side in place. The recommended installation torque is very high and it's easy for the tool to slip out of the splines if it isn't firmly held in place.

Glad to help and thanks for ignoring all of the typos in my post. Now it reads correctly. :)

I totally wouldn't use a headset wrench on a BB tool though; way to trash the wrench if it's really tight.

True, they are a bit thin for that service but 32 mm open end wrenches are pretty scarce so it may be the only thing available. A large (maybe a 12" and certainly a 15") adjustable wrench will open far enough and be a lot stronger if you have one.

Should I use a torque wrench to ensure it's tightened to spec? Most videos and guides I've seen show an adjustable wrench being used.

A torque wrench is ideal since the specified torque is much higher than most people will use if not guided by the wrench. Any wrench that fits will work but you have to get the cartridge REALLY tight.
