1999-2006 Campy Record Hub Rebuild Question
Hey All,
I have a 2005 Campy Record hub that I'd like to rebuild. I have new bearing cups, cones, bearings and seals. My problem is removal of the drive side hub cup. I took the stripped down wheel to my LBS but they could not remove the drive side bearing cup because they said they lacked a tool to remove the pawl ratchet (is his the right term?) that is pressed into/part of the hub shell.
Is my LBS blowing smoke? The image from the Campy spares catalog doesn't show this piece at all.
The only tools that I have seen for bearing cup removal is from Cyclus. The Campy tool I've seen states that it is specifically for older hubs.
So, how can I safely remove the drive side hub bearing cups from recent Record hubs?
