Cannondale RoadTandem 2 (year 2012) Eccentric Bottom Bracket ajustment confusion

Good afternoon folks,

I'm looking for information on how to adjust my RT2 tandem's EBB. I've found information online for their single & double wedge systems. I can't figure out which of the two I have, and then how to make my adjustments. Rather, I should say, I've figured out how to loosen the wedge, but from there, I cannot figure out how to loosen the EBB within the shell and then adjust the timing chain tension.

Help please!

Captain Haddock

Show a picture of what your BB looks like and you will get a correct answer. Roger

There should be two holes to use a pin spanner to rotate the eccentric after you loosen the wedge.

Right, and I've tried that, or at least I had a park tools pin spanner (green handle) and attempted to shift (as described in the first of the two links) with no success. I've also tried to use the 5mm wrench method (as described in the second of the two links), again with no success. Any further ideas?

thanks!

So I try not to feed trolls, but you win! Anyway, thanks for the advice. Why didn't I think of that?! Oh yeah that's right, I wanted a Mechanic's thoughts on this issue...

I use a 4mm allen key and a large flat head screwdriver against the crank spindle to turn an eccentric, but only on heavy duty rental models, not high end Cannondales.

Most Mechanic's have not worked on a tandem nor have they adjusted an eccentric. Cannondale eccentrics are different than CoMotion eccentrics and Cafee are different than the other two.

I could tell you how to adjust it on a CoMotion but your Cannondale is different. The tandem forum someone with a Cannondale will let you know how to adjust it.
