Avid bb7 disc brake mounting question

I'm looking to replace my Cannondale Fatty fork with this Salsa fork.
http://harriscyclery.net/product/sal...k0582-qc49.htm

The Salsa is described with 74mm post mount disc tabs. My Cannondale has a 51mm mounting bracket. Can I just remove the mounting bracket from the Avid and mount it directly to the Salsa tabs? Rotors are 203 mm

you will need a +40mm post mount adapter. i would make sure you have all the bits needed to convert the frame to use a normal fork

What do you mean a normal fork? The Fatty is just a regular fork mounted on a Tandem. The forks are almost identical. The Salsa being a few mm longer.

From the photo that fork looks like it has the 51mm IS brake mounts on it.

If it does have IS mounts you can use your current adapter, if the photo is wrong and it does have 74mm post mounts you'll have to get a new 203mm PM to PM adapter.
