Under BB Cable Guide question

Hello, I'm working on getting the shifting on my bike as crisp as possible. I have one question that I want to address. I have an older frame which uses a metal shift cable guide below the bb instead of a plastic one bolted on. Is there any way to have the cables pass smoother along that area instead of metal/metal rub? I'm switching to the yokozuna reaction cables soon and just wanted to address this. Thank you

Add a piece of housing to the cable where it passes under the BB.

If a full housing wont fit, try to get a hold of a bit of the liner used in fully sealed CX/MTN systems and cut it to fit. Thats actually what i use through the BB guide on my SSix to help protect my Jagwire Teflon cables.

Teflon "spaghetti" tubing used in the electronics industry is available in numerous sizes and is nice and slippery.

Shimano sell the thin inner liner for brake/shift housing as a separate item in 6' coils for about $3. See if your LBS carries it.
