weird light angle?

the lights on my moutain bikes are at weird angles to where neither of them point directly at the road infront of me. The Problem is because the handlebars curve downward towards the stem, and it points the light weird.

is there anyway to overcome this?

There should be a short level section of the bars on either side of the stem. Mount your lights there.

Nope, can't do that. I have "hell bent" bars with bar ends. Most of the top flat part is taken by my shifters, grips and other assorted goodies.

To be more specific, Both lights point in two different directions. It's almost like they're "bug eyed"

A Cateye Opticube light has a left/right pivot that, combined with the up/down adjustment of the bar clamp, should get the light pointed wherever you want.

Other than that, you may need to consider a different handlebar.

Can you use one of these? I use them on several bikes and they work well. I did change the tube that is provided to a 1" aluminum tube that is about 6" long.

I have used Hellbent riser and straightbars for a long time without problems. The CatEye mounts allow swiveling up to 10 deg(aprox) and that is a great feature. The other brands often lack this. Not to worry, it just means you have to use different shims. The clamp is sized to wrap around the large diameter but shimmed to fit the smaller typical position. Old inner tube makes a good shim, or even duct tape in a pinch. With it shimmed to fit the taper, you will have to clamp it pretty hard, so take it outside to tighten. Find a long clear area where you can see the beam(night of course) and sight it where you need, tighten and ride. Repeat adjustment as needed, but if it is sufficiently tightened onto the shim it should not be a problem. Don't crack the plastic, but don't be bashful.

What type of a light is it that doesn't fit on a helmet? Moreover, what kind of night riding do you plan to do?
