Shimano SP-41 housing with no lettering?

Hi guys,

I got my order of blue SP-41 housing from probikekit today but I'm a little concerned that they didn't send me the right stuff. I've bought SP-41 housing in the past that was stamped with shiny "Shimano SIS OT SP-41" lettering but this stuff is completely blank and generic looking. It also looks dark blue in the picture and I received an uglier light blue color.

http://www.probikekit.com/ca/compone...e-colours.html

Has anyone else ever seen blank SP-41 housing like this before? Is it genuine?

The SP-41 housing that isn't pre-cut into lengths maynot carry the logo, but the last time I bought a roll it was pre-lubricated.

The pre-cut lengths may have grease injected only at the logo end of each length, but the rolls are pre-lubed along the entire length with a very light-viscosity whitish grease which should visibly appear on a cable wire that is inserted and removed.

Th SP-41 is a very high-end product, and any substitution or mis-labeling of other housing is a serious rip-off imo.

A coil of bulk SP-41 I have isn't marked on the cable, but it came in a sealed package with a standard Shimano card inside (this was a 10m pack, as opposed to the per meter you have purchased), the only SP41 i've had which was marked, was pre-cut.

For your cable, are you surprised that the color differed from what you saw on the screen to the physical product? Unless both (the camera and monitor) were calibrated exactly, a display monitor will never give exactly the same color as is in real life.

Do you have any reason to believe that it isn't genuine, you have purchased an item from a reputable dealer, have you contacted them with your concerns about this?

Yeah the stuff I bought before with the lettering were pre-cut lengths, this time it was from a roll. It does indeed have the white grease as you say so I guess it probably is genuine then. It also has the same feel as the pre-cut lengths when I bend it.

Really disappointing about the color though. Light blue won't look nearly as good on my bike as dark blue.

Yes I did take that into consideration but I figured it would be somewhat close at least. Oh well.
