Seat post collar
Hey guys, this may be a very silly question, but I have to ask it. I'm looking into a Thomson seat post collar for my bike. I'm pretty sure my bike has one built into the frame, but I'm not sure. How can I tell and how can I take it off if its not built in. I don't even know if they can be built in. I'm very clueless when it comes to seat post collars.
I ride a Bianchi Pista 2004. |
Seatpost clamp on the Bianchi Pista is brazed on to the frame. Why do you want to replace it?
|
Seat post collars are only used on frames with no "ears" brazed (or welded) to the top of the seattube.

Ok cool, thanks for the info. Mine's a little squeaky so I just wanted to see if I could find a way to replace it with a good high quality one. |

Oh it's tight. It is possible that its just my saddle. I have a brooks pro and My LBS said it was either the clamp or the saddle
|
It's almost certainly the saddle, or more likely the saddle clamp.
|
Is there anyway to lubricate the saddle or something to stop the squeak?

The above is assuming you have a single-bolt saddle clamp, if there are multiple bolts, don't just gorilla them all down, post a picture. |
