Cannondale Slice bb30 questions

I recently bought a 2008 Cannondale Slice and it has a bb30 bracket. All of my parts that i'd be switching over to it are shimano, but I do not have a bb or crankset for it yet.

I have a shimano 105 octalink crankset but I don't think that would fit even with an adapter.

So without breaking the bank, what is my best option to get a shimano crankset with an adapter? I'm not afraid to buy used by the way.

Thanks for any help!

Edit: Would I be able to use my octalink set up with this?

Bikes: Too many. Giant Trance X 29, Surly Midnight Special get the most time.

Cheapest/easiest/lightest would be to get a BB30 crankset, which is what I would do. Shimano doesn't make a BB30 crankset, but really a FSA or SRAM crankset will work fine with your drivetrain. FSA Gossamers are stock equipment on a lot of bikes and can be bought used (often as takeoffs) easily and cheap. I have one on my bike and honestly it's fine. Lighter/nicer options would include Sram S900 and Force cranksets, and FSA's nicer cranksets.

If you want a Shimano crankset there are adapters that allow you to use a hollowtech ii crankset in a bb30 bottom bracket shell with the bearings in the frame. I don't know a lot about this but my impression is that Wheels Manufacturing is the most common option for this, though they have competitors: https://wheelsmfg.com/products/bottom...s-shimano.html . Use whatever crankset you want with this.

Edit: the adapter you linked to would allow you to use your octalink crankset. I thought this was permanent but apparently not: https://www.fullspeedahead.com/storag...0100729_v2.pdf

Thanks for your input, i'll be looking into the FSA and SRAM things.

And I noticed that it'd be permanent when I looked much more into it. I'm in the air because this means I can use what I already have, but if I ever sell the frame or want to upgrade it'll become alot harder.
