long reach brakes for 27" to 700c swap?

I'm getting ready to build a 700c wheelset, for my 27" bike and expect to need long reach brakes. Not to mention that upgrading my fugly old brakes would nice. Nashbar makes a cheap sidepull long reach, but does anyone have a suggestion for a nicer sidepull set that would likely reach?

You'll have to measure for yourself...from the center of the mounting bolt to the center of the brakepad. Nashbar claims 41mm to 56mm center to center like that, but I have mine adjusted as long as they'll reach, and it's 56mm from the brake bolt to the outter edge of the 27" rim. It's cutting it about as close as it can without the brakepads rubbing on the tire. These brakes won't work with 700c wheels on my frame. I don't recall Nashbar having their actual reach listed when I purchased mine, or else I doubt I would have bought them.

Measure your clearance carefully, they may work for you. I'm still shopping, though.
Shimanos are 47-57. Tektro pedals single pivots in 47-57,53-57 and 61-78 reach.

So it looks like the tektro long reach calipers are the way to go for 700c wheels, right?

There is really short(the current road 'standard'), standard(now often called 'long') and the old long reach. What you call it doesn't matter. What it fits does matter.

Do you know if the Tektro 61-78 available in the BRC01 Tektro 521AG? Harris cycles lists those at 47-57. https://sheldonbrown.com/harris/brakes.html

Rivendell has some NOS dia compa center pulls that reach 62-78 mm

if you might like to go that route. They'd look right at home if it's an older frame.
