Campy vs Miche 11 sp Cassette

hi all
wondering if a its worth the hassle and the price of switching over from a miche 11spd cassette to a campy chorus cassette.
not completely satisfied with the shifting from the miche one that came with my groupset.
it could be just my lack luster tuning.

does anybody have any opinions on campy vs miche - cassette wise?
is the campy cassette that much better as i've heard from others?

cheers

Miche cassettes are well known to have poor shifting. You get what you pay for. Get a Chorus cassette.

I have used both 10 speeds and I would not say the Miche cassettes have poor shifting, but they are inferior to Campy cassettes. This may seem a little esoteric; with the Campy cassettes the chain feels like it snaps from gear to gear; with the Miche cassette the chain seems to float over the cogs.

its an athena 11sp.

yep - thats the word i would best describe - it feels "inferior".
it kind of coasts over the cogs until it feels like settling in or needs another tap as if it's sayin: oh, you wanted that other gear? ...sorry about that.

campy it is then - thanks gentlemen.
yeesh. just not looking forward to that pricetag, tho.

I assume an Athena cassette will be a bit cheaper than Chorus at no sacrifice in either performance or durability.

I have Chorus 10 on my bike and the cassettes are just too expensive. I use either Centaur or Veloce, which cost as much as Dura-Ace. I wouldn't use Miche though.

Last i knew, Chorus was the lowest level 11 speed cassette. So there is no bargain option that there is with 10 speed.

Athena has been 11-speed since it's reintroduction a couple of years ago. Even Campy's electronic shifting (EPS) has moved down to the Athena level this year.

Yes, but I don't think there is an Athena cassette. You have to buy Chorus. Unlike 10 speed where you can buy a Veloce or Centaur cassette for $50 - $60 to use with higher groups.

I have never used these and a little hard to get in the US but Marchisio may be worth checking out for 11sp. https://www.marchisio.eu/en/sprockets-cassette/

ya - i believe chorus is the lowest (cheapest) of the 11spd groups.
the thing i dont get is why an 11-25 is 40-50bux more expensive than say a 12-27 or a 12-29. (up here in kanada anyhow)

i really miss that 11 tooth in the ole drops.
and i already let an 85$ (11/25) cassette slip through my fingers - it wont happen again.

thanks agn gents - much appreciated!

Athena is the lowest 11 speed group.
Chorus is the lowest 11 speed cassette.

Correct. The Athena 11 speed group in my Bottecchia comes with a Chorus cassette and a Chorus chain.

I have Record 11 speed on the Bianchi and Colnago. The Record group has its own chain and cassette.

Except for the fact that the Record chain/cassette are lighter than the Chorus chain/cassette it is hard to tell of a major performance difference.

To the OP, I would choose Campy over Miche.
