Freestyle bmx making a loud clicking sound

When I pedal on my 20" Thruster Rage freestyle bmx bike I can hear this really loud clicking sound. I got this bike 3 days ago and it started happening yesterday. I'd like to fix this by myself so I'd appreciate it if you gave me a list of tools that I can use.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

If it's happening once or twice per pedal revolution, then it's most likely a loose crank.

This is common on new bikes, and needs to be attended to ASAP, since riding with a loose crank, even for a short while, can damage the interface to the point that it'll never tighten properly.

I'm not sure how to tighten it because I don't have a bolt in the middle of the crank.

Ah, does the crank look like the one at the top of this page? If so, it's a one-piece crank and can't be tightened, so the creaking is probably from a pedal. The fix would be to take the pedals off, grease the threads on them and then tighten them back on properly. Even if it's not a one-piece crank, this might still fix it.

Could be minor misalignment between the sprocket and freewheel. I've got an old Redline that makes a knocking sound, sometimes when I pedal. Not sure if it's something in the freewheel, or just a misalignment.

Freestyle bikes are often set up with the chains too tight. This can cause some creaking and clicking, but it's mostly random, and not a precise once per turn noise.

When I said too tight, that's if it were for normal riding where the chain needs to have some slack to prevent excess wear. However, freestylers don't exactly ride lots of miles and usually prefer the precise control that an overly tight chain provides.

Since the bike is new, I'd lett the shop take a quick look and confirm that there's no problem.
