How would I install this?
 

I've got an old bike, and I was thinking of installing one of these:

I think it will really make my bike "pop".

However, i'm not really sure how to install it. I emailed the supplier, and they said:

"You'll have to remove your front reflector bracket".

I'm not sure this is that case. I found the bracket separately:

and the description of that is "Reflector Bolt Mounting". My impression is that this just bolts onto the reflector mount anyway.

What i'd like to know is; has anyone fitted a light similar to this? I imagine a lot of you have, since dynamo lights seem to be all over the vintage bikes.

On a bike with a sidepull brake caliper you would remove the reflector bracket, if present, and secure the light bracket in place between the caliper and the fork crown using the caliper mounting bolt itself.

If you have a different brake setup but your fork crown is drilled as if it could accept a sidepull caliper you would just need to obtain a bolt to secure the light bracket in place.

If no hole exists you will have to figure some other creative way to rig the light.

Keep in mind that many places require bikes that are ridden after dark to have BOTH reflector AND lights to be legal. If you remove the reflector bracket, consider where to put the reflector.

For that price, I'm guessing it doesn't put out enough light to see where you're going. Maybe just enough for other people to notice you.

It attaches by the reflector bolt, not onto the reflector mount unless you want to look really dorky.
