Shimano and Campy compatability

I heard somewhere that Campy 10 speed Ergopower shifters could be made to work with Shimano 8 speed. Is this true?

Not that I know of. It works with shimano 9 speed with an alternate cable mount at the RD. and maybe with a shiftmate device too.
