Replacement cogs hg51

Not a burning issue, but what's the go-to source for replacement cogs on an HG51? I know the cassette is only $20 but it seems silly to replace the whole thing when only a couple of smaller cogs are worn. I looked at Amazon and nigaracycle.com (don't do eBay) but couldn't find anything that I could recognize, 2 or 3 dollars. What is "MX66" for example?

Any words of wisdom?

Unfortunately, Shimano never made replacement cogs available for the HG-50 series cassettes. At that price point it was more economical for the owner to replace the entire cassette. I would just go ahead and replace the whole thing.

The MX-66 cogs are single speed cogs designed for BMX hubs.

Drats. I was afraid of that.

I guess the bright side is I can get a tighter range and spread out the gears I use more.

Thanks.

You can buy individual Miche sprockets from Universal Cycles: http://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...?category=1569

At $7-11 each, the cost savings of replacing individual sprockets goes out the window pretty fast, though. :( I try to use my cassettes as evenly as possible.

I got my cassette in and installed! 11-23, paired against my new 53-39, we do have hills here, what was I thinking? :o Something different I guess ... like I'm ever going to get up a hill big enough to use the 53x11 going down.

Anyhow, thanks for the responses.
