For the true LBS Mechanics a question

With the Shimano Ulterga 6800 RD mid-cage, be able to use the cage to bolt up to the Dura Ace 9000 RD

It's hard to understand your syntax, but I guess you're trying to create a "GS" version of the Dura-Ace 9000-series rear derailleur. Is that correct?

Shimano doesn't have the exploded view on the Techdocs site: http://techdocs.shimano.com/techdocs/index.jsp for either derailleur. Looking at previous versions I would guess that it would work, but any number of dimensions could prevent this.

Now... if you want a medium-length cage 11-speed rear derailleur, why wouldn't you just use the whole Ultegra derailleur?

Because then it wouldn't say "Dura Ace" on the plate.

I'd say there's a good chance it'd fit, except that Shimano often conduct experiments with DA so all bets are off until you actually get it apart.
