SRAM RED shifter broken, any replacements?

Hi all, I have a SRAM RED 2009 shifter (right one). The intrenal mechanism that changes gears, snapped and some teeth are broken, I have been looking for a replacement for this internal part of the shifter but could not find anything, in my LBS they said to get a new one as soon as they contacted SRAM (due that it is old and they dont have the internal gear shifter mechanism, but I am pretty disapointed about having in a very expensive part that breaks internally after 2-years use, and they can't provide good reparation service.... does anybody had the same problem with SRAM RED shifters and/or SRAM service? I will resist to buy a new one as much as possible.... any advice on how to deal with that?? THANKS!

Most integrated shifters have no available replacement parts. The one exception is Campy. I'm afraid that replacement of the entire shifter may be your only option.

Hopefully, within a couple of years you'll know someone who can just print out another part...

****.... It seems a waste of money spending so much money in something you can't just fix, even when it is just changing one small part inside.... just don't feel spending another 400 dollar in a full set. Whatever, I thought about the printing but is is a metal piece, I may try to fix it with some soldering maybe, I have nothing to loose I guess. Thanks for your help!!

My understanding is that SRAM does not make parts available for sale in the US but does in other countries. I was able to order some parts for my Red shifter from the UK. I found them via eBay.
