Hubs the size of soup cans?
Out riding today, I pulled up to a guy on a Softride wearing full USPS kit, and he had hubs the size of soup cans! I thought this might be his 'rain bike' and asked if he was riding drum brakes, and he said no.I didn't stick around long enough to ask more questions, just a 'pretty fancy' comment. These weren't Phil Wood or American Classic size hubs, they looked like the size of a nexus 7 speed. Anyone know what kind of hubs these might have been?

Spinergy?

chub hubs?
|
Maybe a Nexus 7 on back and a hub generator on front??
|
probably White Industries.

They might have been Power Taps from Graber. Awesome hubs!

Could've been one of those things that tells you how much power you're generating while on a ride, they've got a pretty big hub housing all the mechanisms.
Or maybe it's his 140 speed dura-ace. 2 front x 10 cassette x 7 hub. 0-140mph @ 90 RPM. :) The most likely explaination? It's a stash and the hub's hollow... |
yep, must be chub hubs.....if it was that huge and noticable.
