Is there a spec for crank to cleat center distance?
I have a pair of clipless shoes that I really liked, but had to stop wearing then because the shoes started to rub the crankarm at the ball of the foot, even with the cleats adjusted all the way to the innermost position.
Then, I discovered that I had some Nashbar Ventoux pedals that moved the foot/cleat centerline outward about 1/4" and clearance is now restored!
Is there a published spec for this dimension for various brands of pedals?

I am sure the producers have specs somewhere...next time go to your lbs and get two pedal washers for each pedal and see if that creates the clearance you need. Worked for me with a pair of cheap pedals on a road bike I once had.
