Sachs Orbit 2-speed hub overlocknut reduction query
Hi Friends,
I want to fit a Sachs Orbit 2 speed rear freewheel hub (with hub brake) to an old cargo bike with a narrow (120mm) OLD. The design of the bike makes cold-setting the rear drop-outs to a greater width impossible. I'm wondering if the Orbit's OLD can be reduced easily? Currently it seems to be about 130mm. Has any one done this? Any advice much appreciated.
thanks,
Savvas,

Do you have the hub in hand? How many nuts and spacers are there on the axle? You only need one locknut per side jammed to the cone, so any extras can go.
Sturmey Archer hubs often can be pared down in width by removing nuts, don't know about your specific Sachs hub.
