changing shifter cable for shimano sora flight deck shifter
 

I can't figure out how to remove the cable from the above mentioned shifter, any help would be greatly appreciated..

After loosening at the derailleur, you will need to peel the hood back and shift either up or down (I cannot remember), and you will be able to see the cable end in the shifter housing. Push the cable a bit and the end will pop out enough to grab it and pull the cable out.

Peeling the hood is unnecessary. Loosen the derailleur clamp bolt, then pull gently on the cable while shifting the inner (or mouse ear) lever several times. The cable head should be visible from the outboard side of the lever so just push on the cable and the head should pop right out.

Seems you had a brainfart, happens to us all. OP means shifter cable on brifters.

You were absolutely correct...Yay The key was to keep tension on the cable to make it shift enough to line up the hole...Tension Tension....
