Ahead adaptor

HI Guys,

I have an old TT frame which runs a 1 inch threaded fork, i realise this (refer to pic) adapts to a 1 - 1/8 ahead stem, but do i keep the same headset that i currently use for the one inch threaded fork?http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=344194

Thanks

Yes. This allows you to use a modern threadless compatible stem with a threaded headset.

yeah that is what i thought, i just wondered about the design of it all.

The headset is dependent on the fork, not the stem. The stem, in turn is dependent on the headset, though that can be changed with the adapter.

To use a threadless headset, the steerer would have to be 2" longer at least to extend above the headset, and unthreaded.

Yeah thanks, it kinda all fell into place in my head just needed a bit of reassurance
