Home made, heavy-duty work stand ideas needed!!

I am using a portable folding workstand that I bought from Nashbar a few years ago. Its okay, but I want to upgrade to something better, and I am thinking something along the lines of home made. I have a heavy wooden support post in my basement workshop and this would be the perfect place to mount such a thing.

Any pics of your home made stands? I could use some ideas. Thanks!!

wooden arms sticking out with notches cut in them to support the top tube. or ..

1 pickup bed fork end QR mount..** and a beam that you screw it onto .. that also holds the bike up under the BB.

both sides open to a walkaround, then..

** you can fake that by drilling a hole through stuff , that beam ..
and using the axle out of a trashed Front wheel to hold the fork.

Park sells their workstand clamps mounted on bases that can be bolted to any suitable horizontal or vertical surface. Here is their site showing the choices:
