Centerlock hubs
Hi all,
I'm building two disc brake bikes right now, one road, one cross/gravel. Both will use trp spyre mechanical discs. The wheelsets I've sourced, the hed ardennes fr, use centerlock disc mounts. The trps come with six-bolt rotors. Obviously, I need to either: 1) get centerlock to six-bolt adaptors, 2) buy centerlock rotors for use with the trp spares, or 3) use different wheels or brakes. Option 3 is out because I already have the wheels and there are few compelling brake alternatives. How would you solve this problem? I've found that the adaptors are almost as expensive as new rotors (although I don't really know which rotors to buy as replacements) and I'm not sure I'm comfortable using a pn adaptor in such a critical component. I appreciate any thoughts. Thanks. |
just get some center lock rotors. shimano rotors are cheap on ebay watch out for resin pad only rotors. some centerlock adapters are better than others

Thanks--that is my thinking too. Any particular centerlock rotor you would recommend that is road appropriate? I'm running 160mm rotors on both bikes.

Have a look at the following model Shimano rotors.
SM-RT30, SM-RT53, SM-RT62, SM-RT64, SM-RT67, SM-RT77, SM-RT78, SM-RT79, SM-RT81, SM-RT96, SM-RT97 Some Shimano rotors are for Resin/Organic pads only, check what pads you have before getting new rotors. I'm not sure I'm comfortable using a pn adaptor in such a critical component. |
