Question on bottom bracket spindle width
Hi,
This question regards Phil Wood bottom brackets, but probably relates to any BBs.
Is the difference in spindle length all on the drive side, or is it split between the left and right side?
To explain this more clearly: if I have a 116mm bottom bracket and a 111mm bottom bracket, the difference is 5mm. Is it 5mm shorter on the drive side, or is it 2.5mm shorter on the left, and 2.5mm shorter on the right?
Thanks,
James

Soindles can be symmetrical in which case you only need to know the total length.
Or
They can be asymmetrical, in which case you need both the right and left lengths.

Thanks for the replies. I've installed a new bottom bracket and it's perfect so I'm very happy.
