Fork compatibility

I have an 07 Giant OCR 2 that got in a fight with the roof of my gurage and thus i'm having to source a new fork for it. It had a straight 1 1/4 if im not mistaken fork in it. I have found a tappered 1 1/4 top by 1 1/2 bottom fork and am wondering if it is at all possible to get this fork to fit. Thanks in advance.

No, you need a fork with a straight 1 1/4 steerer.

+1

You can always fit a small peg in a big hole, but you can't put a big peg in a small hole.

BTW- check your frame carefully, especially the underside of the downtube up near headtube. You're looking fro cracked paint or signs of rippling which indicates that the fork held up well enough to damage the frame. If you see any hint of damage, have someone assess it before shelling out for a fork.

You should probably measure that.
