Tektro RL340 adjustment
I can't find the screw to adjust the position of my tektro levers on my bars. Can someone point me in the right direction? Photo would be great, detailed description will do.
Thanks in advance! |
I don't know your particular levers, but there are two places where the mounting band screw or nut are on this general class of levers.
Most common is in the center of the body, where you can see it under the cable if you apply the brakes. These usually need you to either remove the cable or create enough slack to access the bolt by removing the wheel and squeezing the caliper closed. The second possible place is off to the side at the top of the lever (under the hood) as in this Campagnolo lever. If it wasn't in the first location, feel around for a depression in the hood, and peel it back to find the bolt. BTW- in case the photo isn't clear on the point, this bolt position requires sliding the hex key along under the hood for straight line access. It's usually easier with a ball driver rather than a standard key. |
The RL-340's are standard drop bar levers and the mounting bolt is behind the brake lever. Pull the lever as close to the bars as you can and you will see a 5 mm Allen recessed bolt inside the body. The brake cable will be in the way so you will have to loosen or remove it to access the bolt.

Thanks for the help!
Thank you for your responses and quick replies. My brake levers are back in place and now I know how to adjust them. Ride on!
