Shimano 2200 RD + 11-32 cassette?

I am currently running 39/52 front & 11-28 rear (8 sp) on my 11 yr old road bike.
I've been toying with the idea of replacing my cassette with an 11-32 for easier climbing.

Shimano says this derailleur will handle a 26t cog, but obviously that's on the conservative side.
I realize there may be an issue with the frame, and I might need a longer b-screw.
Has anyone here successfully installed an 11-32 with a 2200 RD?

cheers

It's unlikely. Most of the short cage road rear derailleurs can take a 30t, but not a 32.

Unless your bike has an extra long derailleur hanger, I wouldn't try it. You might need to use a Deore or XT rear derailleur.

Thanks. I see Shimano's new 'Claris' 8 sp group features a RD that will clear a 32t cog, and can be bought at a good price.
I assume this RD would also work with my older components?
