Threadless bottom bracket
Thinking I might end up needing to get a threadless bottom bracket. Has anyone installed a threadless bottom bracket? How has it worked out for you and what do you need to install it?
|
Do you mean press fit? Have you a press fit BB shell? How can you think you may need a threadless BB?
|
Depends on the brand. If you get one from Velo Orange, all you need is two installation tools. Like this A YST brand (widely panned as junk), you need a chamfering tool to cut a 45 degree chamfer in the bottom bracket shell, plus two installation tools.

Velo orange is the way to go.

The threads may be stripped so I might need a threadless bottom bracket.

I don't think it works that way. I beleive you are misinformed. You should read an article about BB selection to learn more. The only non-threaded BBs I know of are oversize diameter and do not fit standard BB shells.
