How to remove old glue from tubular rims?

Breaking out my old Sannino road bike... Man cannot believe the shape it is in... and me for that matter.

Want to clean off the old glue on the wheels and start using tape... but how to best remove the glue?

Goo-Gone will work with hardened glue, but you must "marinate" the old glue for up to 10 minutes (maybe even re-applying a second or third coat of GG). Then wipe the stuff with a fresh rag saturated with GG. The glue will come off. Then WASH YOUR HANDS - the solvents in GG are prone to drying the oils right out of your skin!

Or just go get a box of those blue nitrile gloves that mechanics use.
