Shimano Ice Tech Centerlock vs. 6-Bolt

I'm new to disc brakes and as a result, have what is probably a very basic question. My bike has Shimano CX75 mechanical disc brake calipers and the wheelset has center lock hubs. The current rotors are Shimano Centerlock SM RT81-S ice tech. I may be replacing the wheels and the new wheels may have 6 bolt hubs. Can I just put Shimano XT SM RT86 ice tech rotors on the new wheels and use them with my CX75 calipers without further modification?

Yes, you just need to make sure and get the same diameter rotors that you're currently using on your front and rear wheels. Whether they're six-bolt or Centerlock doesn't matter. When you swap the wheels, expect to spend a little time readjusting the position of the brake calipers.

Perfect! That's what I was hoping for. Thanks!

There's even adapters to put a center lock core on 6 bolt discs..
