Hi all,
just got a x-rated 50 dirt bake frame. It has no wheels and pedals and the front fork is a disc-brake one with suspension( Suntour). I tried to put my non-disc brake quick-release wheel on the fork, but it didn't fit. I can't manage to put it in a straight position and spikes are touching the calliper and fork on that side( where the disc brake calliper is). Do I need a speacial wheel, designed for that fork or just any disc-brake wheel will fit?

PS Do disc-brake wheels have different design/construction?

What kind of front wheel are you trying to force-feed onto this bike? Does the axle look like it's the right diameter?

Shimano HB-RM40 is the axle, not sure about diameter as not-very familiar with that. Basically I've measured the space between frok legs on the bike I took the wheel off and space between fork legs on the x-rated bike and it looks same( both about 10.5cm). The wheel is designed for V-brakes only.

some forks have both mounts.. posts for rim brakes and a tab pair for the disc caliper mount.

the disc brake hub as one would expect with the least though on the subject, has a place to mount the disc .
they are a variation on a 10Cm wide hub for a front wheel ..

you can buy prebuilt wheels ready to install the disc parts at most-any bike shop.

Most spoked wheels built with a non disk rake specific hub will have the LH spokes interfere with the ft disk brake caliper. We could go forward and tell you how to remove the disk brake caliper and cable, BUT, my question for the OP is what he's doing about ft brake now that the bike's about to be used. Andy.

I basically prefer to leave the calliper as might be able to get a disc brake wheel off carrera subway 2 which I hope will fit. But if it doesn't fit, will removing the calipper will be a good bet?
