Chorus Limit Screw Needed
 

I have a buggered up limit screw on my 2006-ish Chorus rear derailleur. I can't find anything similar in the bottom of my various parts boxes. Am I likely to find something adequate at the hardware store ?? I'm thinking finding a screw with a small enough head to fit into the body might be tough. Otherwise I guess I could get any old screw, purposely too long so I don't have to worry about the head fitting in the body, but then the tension spring will be too short.

Some stores have a big selection of metric machine screws with different head designs. SS preferred. I would give it a try.

Looking at my own 2006 Chorus RD I believe the limit screws are M4 so a well equipped home store or auto parts store should have a match. If you only ruined one of them, remove the other and use it to find a match. Shimano uses M4 limit screws so you may be able to find one of those in an LBS's recycle parts drawers and it may work. Campy's part number for the limit screws is RD-RE110 if you want the real OEM part.

I have some trashed Campy derailleurs left over from my days as a tech/service center. I don't know if they changed the limit screws since 2003, but if not, I can send you one. Email me c/o the Chain-L site if interested.

we used to get an allen socket SS cap screw, instead of a straight slot machine screw. ..

Mavic did that when they produced derailleurs, back when they were making Component groups .
