There's a delete box if you go to edit post. I don't know if thread starter posts can be deleted but it doesn't hurt to try.

BTW, when you go to delete, thre a check box above where you can write the reason. IME you have to check this box, even if not giving reason, then finish by confirming "delete post" the bottom.
