Chain rub installing Ultegra 6600 FD front derailleur
I have removed and reinstalled my Shimano Ultegra 6600 FD front derailleur on a Cannondale Caad9. I have a hard time adjusting it properly. I have followed the steps used in
. Starting on the smaller cog it seem to be okay, I am able to adjust it so its close to the chain edge without any rubbing. But when changing to the big cog its not moving enough letfward (chain left side rubbing the inside of the outer plate). I am not able to let it move more from adjusting the limit screw. I do think there used to be a barrel adjuster (look upcoming thread about Jagwire parts). Will there be more tension in the cable with a barrel adjuster, enough to move the innerplate a couple of mm?? Or should I be able to use the front derailleur without a barrel adjuster? Will enclose a video showing the range of the derailleur should be wide enough so I believe the cable isnt tense enough but I am not able to tighten it more. Is there something basic mistake I do wrong earlier in the process? Will enclose a few pictures under. My english isnt allways good enough when using bike terms so feel free to let me know if anything isnt clear .

Yes cable needs adjusting. A barrel adjuster is mandatory in my opinion but some say they can get the cable tension right by just trial and error when clamping it down. What you can do to get the cable tighter without a barrel adjuster is push the derailleur to the outside with the shifter in the (left) small ring position, pull the cable tight and clamp. Might take a few tries to get it clamped at the right spot.
