need paint

I know this is not a mechanical question but thought I would try here anyway. I live in southen California and am looking for someone that paints frames without charging an arm and a leg for their services. The frame I want to get painted is not worth very much to anyone but myself, so I am trying to keep the cost low. Thanks for any help.

Are we talking about a steel frame?

Could you do it yourself? It's not a major challenge and the sense of accomplishment is great.

Much information exists online about preparation, materials, and techniques.

Yes, it is a steel frame and doing it myself was not something I thought about. Can you direct me towards any info on trying it? Thanks for the idea. Bill

I'm about to do the same in te UK. I found a couple of pro places that charge bout 65 70 britis pounds and ten rung round all te LBSs found somewhere that reckon they'll powder coat for only 25pounds. Haven't seen the quality of the work yet but its supoosed to be decent. The other possibility is finding somewhere that do motorbikes/(cars?) that was suggested to me but haven't yet looked
hope that helps

Take a look at this site (CLICK ME). Don't forget: your Local Bike Shop can remove pieces as easily (and perhaps more cheaply) than they can install them . . . if you need.

If you're gonna' do this, you owe us pictures -- before, during, and after

Good luck!
