Synapse Carbon build--bottom bracket question

1 Attachment(s)
Picked up a Synapse Carbon frame for my wife during a friends and family clearance at Cannondale. Am aware of the BB30 standard but it looks like a thread adapter was pressed into the frame. Two questions: 1) what is your opinion about keeping the adapter vs. removing it? I don't know if any adhesive/Loctite was used, I expect so. 2) It looks like a 36mm but I'm not sure about the thread pitch. I assume it's the Italian threading. Thoughts?

No one in their right mind would put an Italian thread adapter into a BB30 bottom bracket. The fact that the drive side of an Italian BB is right-hand threaded will mean that it will really have to be reefed down and maybe loc-tited to keep from unscrewing by precession. Check to see if it's English- English will have left-hand threading on the drive side.

If it is Italian, I'd press it out and use either an English adapter or a BB30 crank. But I bet it's English. Thus it will be fine, especially if installed by the factory.

i would have it removed if i had a preference for 30mm crank spindles. if it's important whether or not it is Italian threaded it should be easy enough if you have an Italian threaded BB. there are other methods of detection that others know more about than me, but if i didn't have an Italian threaded BB i would just take it to the LBS and ask.

it is english threaded. i think stock cannondale did not use any retaining compound to hold them in. you need proper sized press adapters to press it out
