7 Attachment(s)
Hello this is my first post, my name is Michael and I have a passion for cycling, recently ive gone over from a MTB to a good condition vintage road bike (Emmelle Bullet) but im unsure on the wheel size etc, ive attatched pictures to show you,
1. Im wanting to know what wheels (rims) I need, 26in, 28in? and would they need to be like 28in 700x25 wheels? 2. Also on the advertisement it states that it’s a 12 Speed shimano Tourney Gear but I cant find a 12 speed rear wheel for the size of the bike, http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=387741http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=387742http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=387743http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=387744http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=387745http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=387746http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=387747 There are my only questions so far, so could you point me in the right direction where to buy the wheels I need to fit my bike meaning what to put in the search bar so im leading directly to the correct wheel, im from the UK and also I don’t want expensive wheels as they will be just spares. Kind regards, Michael |
Seems OK as is for what you have invested .. want nicer stuff, look into a whole different Bike .
the numbers are on the sidewall of the tire Read them .. |
Hi Michael'
1. You need wheels with a 622mm Bead Seat Diameter (BSD). These are also known as 700c, 29 inch, 28 inch - depending on where you are, and what the wheels are intended for. 2. A direct replacement is a 5 to 7 speed freewheel rear wheel with 126mm OLD. In modern terminology, your bike is a six speed or 2 x 6 (=12). You have a beautiful example of a VERY inexpensive bike, not desirable to most collectors. Why do you want spare wheels? |
Your important number is the xx-622.
If you want a bit fatter tire, you could use a 28-622 (if you have room to fit it). A little skinnier would be a 23-622. |
what is the problem with the wheels it has now
