I read somewhere that people also use this in their....

,,,ultra sonic cleaning devices. Posters said it works better than other brands. I've always used dishwashing dertergent and water to clean grease from my hands, but not Dawn. Going to try it.

Dawn is a great hand soap for removing imbedded grease and dirt. I've never used it on parts but it does get your hands clean if you don't bother with latex or nitrile gloves or, as usual, the glove tears. BTW, Sam's club has BIG bottles of Dawn so you can use it for both kitchen and workshop at low cost.

Really dirty hands, add a teaspoon of sugar to your dawn dish soap and you have poor man's gritty degreaser.

Dawn is the detergent of choice for de-oiling seabirds which have gotten themselves covered with crude oil. Its degreasing properties are equally applicable to greasy hands and bike parts. If you clean a chain with ANY water-based cleaner you must be certain to get all of the water out of the tiny crevices or it will resist your efforts at re-lubrication.
