Kool Stop International - High Performance Bicycle Brake Pads Since 1977

If not, does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks for any help.

I believe that the pads shown will bolt into the campy caliper arm slots well enough. But the shoe's curved interface won't sit as it should since the Campy arms don't have a matching concave inner surface. How well the pads/shoes stay in place and/or toe in will be your discovery. I wouldn't use them.

IIRC your Chorus shoes will take these pads.

Photos of your brakes and their shoes would help us not have to rely on memory or trust that no changes were made over the years. Andy.

Sadly, I don't have the shoes. Here is a picture of the brakes. Maybe I should try and find Campagnolo shoes and fit Kool Stop pads? That should be fun to find.

Interestinly, the one side of the brake shoes is rounded. I have one set of brakes shoes here, but need two more.

Here is a diagram of the brake with the rounded end of the shoe. I am up for changing it to another shoe if the pads are easier to get from Kool Stop.

In keeping with the Kool Stop theme- The KS continentals would be the other replacement pads I'd consider if the shoes are AWOL. They are real "old school" (perhaps amongst the first KS products). But they have the right shapes and thickness for many classic applications.

The OEM Campy pads with their rounded ends are only one of many attempts to shed water from getting between the pad and rim. Some of the KS pads have a "plow tip" that tries to do some of the same. I like my pads to contact the rim as flat as they can so I grind down this wedge/plow tip often. Andy.

i have a set of those brakes, or least they look identical to those in the pic. mine were advertised as Athena, anyway, i just buy those old-fashioned inexpensive black and chrome ones with the cap nuts at the LBS for about 2 bucks a pair when i need them. i suppose most people want something that costs more...

Brake pads are like shoes... Kind of pun intended. When you grow to like a feel you tend to repeat the choice. I found Scott Mathouser pads in the late 1970s and with few exceptions I still use them. The bike I road to work today has SM inserts in Campy shoes mounted to Campy NR calipers (controlled by Ergo levers). Andy.
