Disc brake rubbing
Hello
I hope that you can help me. The front disc brake on my specialized cross trail rubs after I pull the brake or if I go over a bump. If I touch the break when it is rubbing, the issue goes away until I break or go over a bump again, then I lightly apply the break and the issue goes away again. It appears as if something is loose but I'm not sure what it could be. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. |
I suspect the brake is adjusted super close on one side, and very slight movement is causing rubbing. It's also possible that the entire caliper unit is loose on the fork and moving a bit on bumps --- check this, it's important.
If the caliper is mounted securely and correctly then it's an adjustment issue, and the procedure varies withy the specific brake. Search for that info by brand and model, and follow the instructions for centering and adjusting the caliper. |
you need to make sure the wheel goes back in the same way as before too.
