Sugino bashguard bolts
First off, this is my fist post. I've been a regular reader, but never needed to join because I was able to search for and find the answers to my questions. So thank you.
The issue at hand shouldn't be complicated, but is stumping me. I'm overhauling an 82 schwinn le tour. Breaking down the crank, many of the bolts holding the inner chain ring to the crank, and many of the bolts holding the bash guard to the crank, were corroded and stripped slightly as I removed them. I'm working on an obnoxious color scheme, so this was a fine opportunity to find some Chinese offensively-colored replacements on sleazy bay.
For the inner ring, this looks pretty simple: a standard set of 5 double/triple chainring bolts. (Please educate me if I'm wrong.)
But what size are the screws holding the bash guard to the crank? They're definitely a few sizes smaller. Does anyone make a matching set (inner bolts/nuts) and outer screws? Even black would be some welcome contrast.
The crank is the stock sugino super maxy 39/52. Talk slow to me, this is very much a learning experience...

Take the bashguard screws in question to a hardware store or home center and compare the size and threading to what they have in stock or to a display for determining that. They probably won't have the style you will want but at least you'll know the size.
Pictures of you crankset would be helpful, too. I had a super maxy on a bike years ago but can't remember the details. Bashguard fixing screws can be less standard than chainring bolt sets.
standard double chainring bolt set should fit. (Not triple - that would be for all three rings on the same bolts.

Period pieces . you need a time machine or classifieds/craig's list & Auction Luck ..
they're smaller than standard and Were made by Sugino in-house..
the swaged on chainring/crank , shown, was the lowest cost option.

Thanks for the info. the outer screws are in pretty good shape, I'll break out the toothbrush and get those cleaned up and order a double chainring bolt set. Thanks to both of you
