Feedback on sausage-shaped, straight/linear inner tubes?

Hello

Since removing the back wheel on a Brompton after a puncture doesn't look like fun, especially when done at night on a busy road... I was thinking of getting some "linear inner tubes", ie. C-shaped tubes so you don't need to remove the wheel to change the tube:

Sidewinder Easy Fit Inner tube 24 & 26 Inch Wheels - £0.50

However, I found very little infos on that type of tube by searching either here or through Google.

Provided they are available for 16" wheels, does anyone ride with those and could offer some feedback?

Thank you.

Well, if you know where the puncture is you can remove just the tire in that area, pull out tube, repair it and push it back in. Might be easier said than done on 16 in. wheels.

Tubes like that used to be a big thing way back when, but now they've fallen out of fashion. If you want to try, don't try too hard finding a 16" version. They're intended to overlap the ends, so a bit more overlap isn't gonna change anything.
They're usually sold at low-price chains, so it's hard to tell whether the bad reviews come from a good idea economized to death, or a poor idea getting what it deserves.
