Bike maintenance guidance needed
I plan to disassemble the BB, wheel bearings and pedals to clean and repack all bearings. I plan to R&R most if not all cables after installing larger handlebars. I have a dvd copy of Barnett's Manuals downloaded in 2004. Would that suffice for me to do the needed maintenance? Would there be any reason to get the bike repair/maintenance manual by Park Tools???

You have a book, what's needed is some skill and experience. Rather than another book, search the internet for free tutorials on each phase of the job, ie. "install bottom bracket". These come in both text and photo, or video, and some are general while others very specific to the components involved.
Review a few, especially those most related you your specific needs, until you have a sense of the job, then dig in. |
