New wheel/Cassette Question . . . or maybe problem

So, I just got a set of Stan's Grail with the 3.30 RD Hub. I am using 105 10 Speed. This is my first time doing this on my own. I installed the new 105 cassette with the included spacer. Lockring appears to be properly torqued, and shifting on the stand seems fine (I haven't ridden the new wheels yet). There is a small gap between the biggest cog and the flange. It looks like it is about 1 mm, maybe a little more. As far as I could tell, the cogs were all the way on the hub when I mounted the cassette. Is this gap normal, or did I screw something up? Or maybe need a different spacer? I ask because the portion of the freehub mechanism that the cassette mounts to is bright red. So I am not sure if I did something wrong, or if that small gap is there on all the other wheels I have owned, but I just have not been able to see it since they have all had black hubs. Thanks

if you think the cassette should slide on further, take it apart and see what's holding things up.

Thank you, problem solved. Turns out I am in fact a moron. There is a little lip to seat the cassette. With the cassette flush on the hub, it looks like there is a gap since the hub is red and you can't see the little tabs on the freehub that keep the cassette there. So it is in fact flush, even though while mounted, it at first appears that it is not.
